IF YOU’RE PLANNING A WEDDING AT OXWICH BAY HOTEL IN THE GOWER, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION!

Why Oxwich Bay Hotel in the Gower is a great place to get married

Oxwich Bay Hotel in the Gower is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the nicest places to get married. The venue offers an onsite hotel so guests don’t have to travel home – and there is a stunning beach that’s perfect for photos.

Nikki and Luke are a lovely couple from South Wales who got married at Oxwich Bay Hotel in the Gower, which is a beautiful hotel in Oxwich Bay with ocean views. It was a gorgeous day and even the weather played ball! As soon as I met them, I knew their Oxwich bay wedding would be a joy to photograph.

I started with the bride, and it was easy to capture the most beautiful moments during her wedding preparations.

Bridal preparations

Nikki got ready in a lodge near the hotel. It was a lovely stone building with plenty of room for Nikki and her maids to get ready. It was an emotional time for everyone involved. The wedding was all about them and the love they have for each other. Absolutely no one was allowed in her room until she was ready to leave for the ceremony.

This was a fun shoot for me. It was one of those shoots where you know the light is going to be good and the wedding guests are going to have fun. Perfect recipe for documentary wedding photography

The ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service near the coast and beach of the Gower in West Wales . During the ceremony they had a sting quartet perform. It was such a personal service for them and their family.

It was an emotional time for everyone involved. The wedding was all about them and the love they have for each other. The quartet was wonderful and the music they played during the ceremony was lovely.

Gower was the perfect location for this beautiful couple. They have a very special bond and I was so happy to be a part of it.

“This was such a special and emotional day for us. We wanted a small intimate wedding that was personal and for us, and that’s exactly what we got."

They decorated the area with flowers, which every one loved. The reception was also at Oxwich Bay Hotel – I love this venue because it’s near the beach. Beach photographs were a must today. Weddings at Oxwich Bay Hotel in the Gower are amazing, because the surroundings are just incredible.

The reception

The couple had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a magician in the evening. For dinner they had a roast dinner, and the first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle. They finished off the evening with some good old sparklers.

The couple

Nikki wore a traditional white gown and Luke wore a suit and they both looked really gorgeous.

The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was so personal. They said they wanted a relaxed documentary photographer, and I loved that they seemed so much fun to want to work with.
