- Common Fears When Booking a Wedding Photographer
Introduction: Booking a wedding photographer is a crucial decision when planning your special day. Your wedding photos will be cherished memories that capture the essence of your celebration for years to come. However, it's natural to have concerns and fears when entrusting this responsibility to someone else. In this blog post, we will address and provide solutions for the most common fears couples face when booking a wedding photographer. 1. Fear of not finding a skilled and experienced photographer: Finding a photographer with the right skills and experience can be daunting. To overcome this fear, research and view photographers' portfolios in your area. Look for consistency, creativity, and attention to detail in their work. Additionally, seek recommendations from friends, family, or wedding planners who have had positive experiences with photographers. 2. Fear of the photographer not capturing all the important moments: Your wedding day is filled with countless precious moments, and it's crucial to have a photographer who can capture them all. When choosing a photographer, discuss your expectations and create a shot list together. This will ensure that both you and your photographer are on the same page about the significant moments you want to be captured. 3. Fear of the photographer not understanding your style and vision: Every couple has a unique style and vision for their wedding photos. To overcome this fear, communicate openly with potential photographers about your preferences, themes, and desired atmosphere. Look for photographers who have experience shooting weddings that align with your vision. 4. Fear of the photographer being unreliable or cancelling last minute: Reliability is paramount when booking a wedding photographer. To ease this fear, read reviews and testimonials from previous clients to gauge the photographer's professionalism and reliability. Additionally, consider signing a contract that outlines the photographer's responsibilities, including backup plans in case of emergencies. 5. Fear of the photographer being intrusive: A common fear couples share is having a photographer who is intrusive or disrupts the natural flow of the wedding. When meeting potential photographers, discuss their approach and style. Look for professionals who blend seamlessly into the background, capturing candid moments without being obtrusive. 6. Fear of the photographer not delivering high-quality edited photos: The fear of receiving poorly edited or low-quality photos is understandable. To alleviate this concern, ask to see total wedding galleries from previous clients. This will give you a better understanding of the photographer's editing style and consistency. Additionally, inquire about the post-production process and the turnaround time for receiving the final edited photos. 7. Fear of the photographer not handling challenging lighting conditions: Weddings often involve various lighting conditions, from bright outdoor settings to dimly lit indoor venues. To overcome this fear, discuss with potential photographers their experience with different lighting situations. Inquire about their equipment, such as low-light lenses or lighting setups, to ensure they can handle lighting challenges. 8. Fear of the photographer not delivering the final photos on time: Timely delivery of the final wedding photos is crucial for couples eagerly awaiting their memories. When discussing the contract with potential photographers, ensure a clear timeline for when you can expect to receive your photos. This will alleviate any anxieties about delays. 9. Fear of the photographer being overpriced or not providing value for money: Budgetary concerns are common when booking a wedding photographer. To overcome this fear, research and compare prices from photographers in your area. Remember that quality and experience often come at a price, so consider the value you receive rather than solely focusing on the cost. Seek photographers who offer packages that align with your budget and needs. 10. Fear of the photographer not being able to work well with you and your families: Having a photographer who can connect and work harmoniously with you and your families is essential. During the initial meeting or consultation, assess the photographer's interpersonal skills and ability to understand and accommodate your needs. Look for photographers who prioritize building a rapport and creating a comfortable environment for all involved. Conclusion: When booking a wedding photographer, it's natural to have fears and concerns. By addressing and discussing these fears, you can find a photographer who aligns with your vision, style, and expectations. Remember to communicate openly, view portfolios, read reviews, and sign a contract to ensure a smooth and worry-free experience. Recent review June & Mike. Bear Hotel Cowbridge left a new 5-star Eyes2Me photography - simply the best! James took the time to meet us before our wedding to get to know what we were looking for. We didn’t want to spend a fortune on a wedding album we’d never look at or spend hours posing for photos. But we wanted to capture some memories of our special day. James took some photos of us, a couple of group photos and yet stayed for over 7 hours taking off-the-cuff photos of us, our friends and family. The photos are amazing and capture exactly what we wanted, everyone having a fab time. Would highly recommend Eyes2me, is a personable man who cares about his customers.

- Your Wedding Day Budget
When you're planning a wedding - the couple (and family who sometimes chip in,) will usually have a budget in mind on the expenditure for each part of the wedding day. ON THE DAY. Wedding Dress for the bride (£1,000 +) Dress for bridesmaids (£1,000 +) Hair and Make up for the bride and bridesmaids £300 +) Hire Clothes for the groom and best man (£300+) Cars (£500+) Church / Venue (£5,000 +) Seat Covers / Decorations (£500+) Catering / Drinks (£4,000 +) Table Decorations (£800+) Wedding Cake (£500 +) Wedding Flowers (£500+) Entertainment, Band / Disco (£1,000+) So you are looking at around £15,000 minimum just for the actual wedding day. Not including invitations, wedding rings and honeymoon etc. (most will pay a lot more). A quick look over the internet will show the average total cost of a wedding in 2019 was £31,974. More information on the average wedding budget from this website All these services will be used for one day, and one day only. The cake is eaten, the flowers will die, cars are gone home, the venue is cleaned ready for the next bride, table decorations are carried off by guests (some vanish into thin air) Etc. But what about the photographer budget? Photographer (£1,000 +) That's a lot of money just for just one day. Why so expensive?? Your wedding photographs will last a lifetime. But the cost is only between 5% and 10% of just your wedding day budget. A lot less if you take into account the rings, gifts, honeymoon, etc. Your photographer will capture your day and you can re-live the moments over and over. So let's look at the wedding day budget in a little more detail. Wedding Photography Pricing. Its not just one day - Whats included. - 10 tips for selecting a wedding photographer
It’s come the time you need a wedding photographer. Unfortunately, it’s not like selecting like for like, so you can't get a price comparison. It’s become a minefield. One wrong move on your part and your photography plans will explode. No blood and mud. But photographs you are not happy with - and a photographer you didn’t get along with. Usually resulting in hiding your photographs from friends and family. When you should be showing them off. The only way you can price compare is if you get identical photographers with the same personality, same equipment, and same level of experience. You know that’s not going to happen. But you still price compare. This is the reason why photographers are not on a price comparison website. So what are you going to do? You start by knowing what you want, just like looking for a car. There are cheap cars and expensive cars. Same for pretty much most things. Cheap clothes, expensive clothes. Cheap shoes, expensive shoes. You get the idea. Cheap photographers may not have experience, back equipment, insurance, specialist computer editing software, etc. But they will be cheap. But if it’s what you are looking for. Go for it. You may get lucky and have a few good photographs. Just don’t go slagging the poor sole when it backfires on you. It’s what you wanted. So blame only yourself. So what can you do? Well, let’s look at prices for a full-day photography session. Around £500 You might know someone with a "good camera". Who usually photographs landscapes or birds on weekends. Often seen carrying a tripod or ladder. Sometimes the nerves kick in, and they get cold feet just before the wedding day and cancel on you at the last minute. You have seen the media posts "let down by my photographer". Around £1000 Or £999 because it looks better. Usually, they will have a lot of wedding photography experience and enough photography equipment to see him or her out of any problems they may encounter. They will have insurance and qualifications. Most will belong to a reputable photography organisation. They would rather cut a limb off before letting you down. Dedicated to their work and paying bills depends on them photographing. Above £1000 Pretty much the same as the £1000 photographer, but will give away "free gifts". An album, an engagement session, or some prints or canvas. So what now? Get off your backside and start with these ten tips for finding the right photographer. 1. Start by researching and looking at different photographers' portfolios online. This will give you an idea of their style and the type of photography they specialise in. You took the time to locate the right venue. Now do the same for a wedding photographer. 2. Consider your budget and determine how much you will spend on a photographer. Wedding photography can vary greatly in price, so it's important to clearly understand your budget before deciding. 3. Reach out to friends, family, or recent brides who have had positive experiences with their wedding photographers. Personal recommendations can be a great way to find a reliable and talented photographer. 4. Meet or phone with potential photographers to discuss your wedding vision and understand their personalities. It's important to feel comfortable and have a good rapport with your photographer, as they will be with you throughout the wedding day. 5. Ask to see full wedding albums or galleries rather than just a selection of their best shots. This will give you a better idea of the photographer's consistency and ability to capture the key moments of a wedding. 6. Inquire about the photographer's experience and qualifications. Are they full-time professionals or part-time photographers? Have they worked at similar venues or in similar conditions as your wedding? These factors can affect their ability to handle different lighting situations and capture the essence of your wedding day. 7. Discuss the photographer's approach to capturing candid moments versus posed shots. It's important to find a photographer who can balance both styles and capture the emotion and authenticity of the day. 8. Ask about their backup plan in case of any unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. Professional photographers should have a backup camera and a plan to ensure that your wedding is properly documented, even in the case of technical difficulties. 9. Review the photographer's contract carefully and ask about any additional costs or fees that may not be included in the initial package. Be clear about what you will receive regarding edited images, prints, and albums. 10. Trust your instincts and choose a photographer whose work and personality align with your vision for your wedding day. Remember, your wedding photos will be cherished memories for years, so choosing a photographer who can capture those moments beautifully is important. Bonus tip. Always ask to see reviews. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/eyes2me.co.uk Or book us and save yourself a lot of headaches www.eyes2me.photography
- Wedding Photography at Crug Glas, Country House Haverfordwest West Wales
On the 5th October 2019, I had the pleasure to photograph the lovely wedding of Rachel and Jake at The Parish Church of Saint Mary Roch, in Haverfordwest. Beautiful church that was made all the more special as she was married by her uncle. Just as well, as the bride was nearly an hour late. He was very understanding, though. So was the guests. They half expected it to happen. The harpist played some lovely music during the arrival of the bride and during the ceremony. The church was full of friends and family, and you could tell from the onset this wedding was going to be a blast of fun and laughter all the way. Following the ceremony, we stopped off at the beach for some photographs before heading to the reception venue. This pebble beach made for some lovely photo opportunities. The sky was cloudy, giving as a more dramatic look to the images. We then headed off to the 5-star Crug Glas, Country House Haverfordwest. Just off the A487 between St Davids and Fishguard. Crug Glas is a country house and restaurant in Pembrokeshire. Not far from the historic city of St Davids. https://www.crug-glas.co.uk Food was stunning and plenty of it. I know because the lovely couple arranged for me to have a meal at the bar. Most of the images were in a candid style with some group shots and private moments of the couple. The couple just had a blast all day. The evening disco and band rounded the wedding party off well into the nigh-time, possibly early hours of the morning. I honestly lost all track of time. The bride and groom also give me a lovely surprise gift of an engraved whiskey flask. Thank you both. It was my pleasure to photograph such a great couple. This wedding was chosen by South Wales Wedding Magazine to be featured in May 2020 edition. #Haverfordwest #weddingphotography #WeddingPhotos #Brideandgroom #JournalisticPhotography #SouthWalesPhotography #CanonEOSR #photographs #Internetphotographs #Fishguard #StDavids
- Wedding Ceremony Traditions
Weddings are a time of joy, happiness and celebration. However, for some people, they are also a time of superstition and tradition. Superstitions have been a part of wedding ceremonies for centuries and have been passed down from generation to generation. While some of these superstitions may seem outdated, they still hold a special place in the hearts of many couples. In this blog post, we will explore some of the most common wedding superstitions and their origins. Wedding Ceremony Traditions 1. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Possibly one of the most well-known wedding superstitions, this tradition involves the bride wearing something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. The old item is meant to represent the bride's past, the new item represents her future, the borrowed item is supposed to bring good luck, and the blue item represents fidelity and loyalty. 2. Rain on your wedding day While most couples pray for a sunny day on their wedding day, rain is actually considered to be good luck. In some cultures, it is believed that rain is a sign of fertility and that it will bring good luck to the couple. 3. Seeing each other before the ceremony Many couples believe that it is bad luck to see each other before the ceremony. This superstition dates back to the days of arranged marriages when the groom was not allowed to see the bride until the ceremony. However, in modern times, many couples choose to have a first look before the ceremony. 4. Carrying the bride over the threshold Carrying the bride over the threshold of their new home is a tradition that dates back to ancient Rome. It was believed that evil spirits lurked in the threshold and carrying the bride over it would protect her from them. 5. The groom seeing the bride's dress before the wedding. In some cultures, it is believed that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride's dress before the wedding. This superstition dates back to the days of arranged marriages when the groom was not allowed to see the bride until the ceremony. 6. The groom not seeing the bride until she walks down the aisle. In some cultures, it is believed that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride until she walks down the aisle. This superstition dates back to the days of arranged marriages when the groom was not allowed to see the bride until the ceremony. 7. The bride's veil The bride's veil is said to represent her purity and virginity. In some cultures, it is believed that the veil will protect the bride from evil spirits. The veil is also said to represent the bride's submission to her husband. 8. The wedding ring The wedding ring is said to represent eternal love and commitment. It is believed that the circular shape of the ring represents eternity and the never-ending love between the couple. 9. The bride's bouquet The bride's bouquet is said to represent fertility and new beginnings. In some cultures, it is believed that the bride's bouquet will bring good luck to the couple. 10. The wedding cake Cutting the wedding cake is said to bring good luck and prosperity to the couple. In some cultures, it is believed that if a single woman puts a piece of the wedding cake under her pillow, she will dream of her future husband. 11. The first dance The tradition of the first dance dates back to the early 19th century when the waltz became popular in Europe. At the time, it was considered scandalous for couples to dance in public, and it was only acceptable for married couples to dance together. This led to the tradition of the bride and groom sharing the first dance as a public display of their commitment to each other. Over time, the first dance has become an important part of the wedding reception and is seen as a symbol of the couple's love and devotion to each other.
